Flavours are very sweet with lots of candi sugar. Balanced somewhat by some labic sourness. Mouthfeel is spot on and overall whilst very sweet still a great beer. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this one. Popped the cap with no apparent carbonation. Poured vigorously to generate some minimal bubbling; pours a turbid brown/red with a thin white film, no real head. Aroma has some complex sourness in the background, but it is overshadowed by the back-sweetening. Same goes for the taste. You can tell there was an interesting beer back behind there, but it is extremely over-sweetened on top of that. Pretty much what I expected (except actually a little carbonated) - lackluster, but interesting style to try. rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Flavor is sourness masked with sweet candi sugar, wood, fruits, yeasts, apple cider. Odd beast. phaleslu (573), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Pours a hazy golden light brown with a white head. Nice lacing. Sweet, acidic aroma. A bit dusty. Flavour is quite sweet, tart and dusty. Notes of dried fruits behind the sweetness. Sweet, sugary, bitter finish with wine-like notes. My first faro, and the sweetness had me a bit surprised, but it wasn’t cloying or anything. Quite nice. 18-09-09. cheapdark (2047), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Quality package, embossed corked bottle. Pop smells funky. Hypnotic pour. Full lambic experiemce, tart and farmy with candy sweetness. Perfect carbonation. Some very mild medicine in the background. Supreme enjoyment if you have a sweet tooth. An excellent example of a flemish brew. Does anybody know why they make any other style? Finish? What finsh, blast; its all gone. Need more.
