Bottle. Deep amber colour with a small head. The aroma is malt and apples. Sweet flavour with notes of malt, sourness and fruity bitterness.

250ml bottle Dark amber to light brown color, with a bit of lace. Aroma of malt vinegar, lemon, funk, lactic cream. Rather complex. Sweet, lemony flavor with a touch of caramel and vinegar, lactic acid, blanket, and wood. Well balanced and moderately complex, though certainly too sweet for me. Like their Gueuze, though, got less pleasant through the bottle.

12oz bottle. Pours honey color with a small off white head and lots of lacing. Smells of yeast and brown sugar. Tastes very sweet at first, then lots of yeast, some green apple, some maltiness and slightly tart and vitaminy in the aftertaste. Very unusual beer, but getting better the more i drink it.

25cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring - ABV 4.2%. Slightly hazy gold in appearance with a ring of off-white head; aroma of tart fruits - plums, cherries and apples, and also some coriander; sugary sweet flavour with lots of spritz and grape - like a cheap, sweet Cava; the texture is buttery, some of the tart fruit comes through too, with apricot and greengage. Certainly refreshing, but I’m not sure I could manage more than one of these.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, light brown-amber body with a few initial bubbles, though no appreciable head formation. Smell: Sourish, tart, lightly musty wafts juxtaposed against a sweet, sugar-laced aroma. Taste: Sugary sweet with touches of treacle to keep the mustiness at bay. Some subtle fruity tones of sour apricots and tart peaches. Even subtler herbal hints. Very small nibble of Colby cheese. The high degree of sweetness manages to hold back the tart and sour qualities, even through to the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Fairly low amount of carbonation. Drinkability: Just as the overly sweet, simplistic Lindemans lambics rarely win me over, the same is true for their faro. I feel the humble faro could be better served by more prominent lambic produces. Now then, if I could only get my grimy mitts on the Cantillon or Girardin faro.

My first faro thanks to 502flavors: wow, weird. Definitely get a mouth full of that belgian candi sugar and the aroma honestly reminded me of $5 Andre champagne and the mouthfeel was very similar - incredibly sugary and fizzy. Poured a very beautiful amber color though, with a quickly fading white head and minimal lacing. An interesting try and I’d be interested to find other faro’s that aren’t lindemans.
