Poured vigorously to generate some minimal bubbling; pours a turbid brown/red with a thin white film, no real head. Aroma has some complex sourness in the background, but it is overshadowed by the back-sweetening. Same goes for the taste. You can tell there was an interesting beer back behind there, but it is extremely over-sweetened on top of that. Pretty much what I expected (except actually a little carbonated) - lackluster, but interesting style to try.

Flavor is very sugary with a sour Lambic undertone. Interesting, but I prefer gueze. bogus (30), Zeist, Netherlands

Taste is a tad sour with enough sweet to round it off. Hints of apple. I love this one. Nice beer for sunny days. CaptainCougar (5526), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Bottle shared by acrdz/mj on 7/17/08: Pours a transparent golden bronze with a thin ring of off-white head. Sweet pale wheaty and semi-tart fruity nose has a touch of biscuity yeast and sugary apples. Starts sugary sweet and fizzy with some earthy light tartness and juicy apple flavor before a sweettart finish. Interesting, but too sweet. Soonah (970), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Poured somewhere between brown and red with lots of carbonation and a fizzy white head. The aroma is slightly tart with a touch of yeast and plenty of sugars. The flavor is a bit tart that is quickly trampled by sugars. Overly sweet. Failed to find balance. Mouthfeel is thin and the sugars linger in your mouth long after the sip is gone. stfrancis (30), Heffingen, Luxembourg
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Colour of dark honey. Aroma of apples, musty lambic overtone. Taste is slightly sour balanced by candy sweetness, citrus flavour also present. Very nice light carbonation. Tasty one. Fevernova (62), Ohio, USA

Sweet and tart fruits like apple, pear, and fig. The spontaneous yeast provides some great funky notes, even some blue cheese. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2009 My first Faro! The Dan Journal #313. Tasted 10/24/09. 355ml bottle. Cork and cage. Filtered? Amber hue. Spotty off-white head. Aromas are tart and earthy and musty. Big nose with notes of apples and dark berries. Full bodied with a big palate. Assaulting the palate. Totally fruit driven. Apples and citrus. Sugary berries. Nice candy sugar flavor. Filling and more malt driven. This is new to me, but I prefer it over the fruited lambics. This sets the bar. wheresthepath (551), Buckinghamshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 [250ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring] Amber with a slight white head and a slight fizz. Smells fresh and fruity. Fruit comes through at first before the sourness hits. Thought it was too sour for me at first, but then other flavours started to come through - wood, caramel and a lot of dryness. Rather enjoyed it by the end after the slightly scary start.
