thewolf (3608), Kolding, Denmark May 11, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head, fizzes away rather quickly. Aroma is lightly tart, great apple and barnyard. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly tart, great vanilla notes, yeast, milky bacteria. Very dry finish.
dalekliz (163), San Diego, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a cloudy peachy-orange with a thin, white head that lingers. Sour aroma, of fruit and a little yeasty. Sour taste starts strong then fades into a sweeter fruitiness. Lingering vinegar taste. Tasty. pepsican (708), the beer wastelands of, Iowa, USA Aug 21, 2008 clear lemon yellow pour with a big pillowy white head. Aroma is tart orange and oak. Flavor is lemon, oak, dust, grapefruit, and a bit of grape. Finished mildly tart and a bit musty. Angeloregon (1867), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle from Belmont Station in Portland, OR--Poured a bright yellow-orange hue similar to the color of the bottle and neck wrapper. very nice looking hue with a thin filmy white wispy head. Tart, sweet, lactic sour nose. Effervescent, dry and sour on tongue. Flavor of sweet fruits overrun by wood and grass tart sour. SOUR! Wonderful Lambic! Great with sharp cheese. I loved it! thickfreakness (56), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours slightly hazy straw yellow with white head that fades to foam and leaves a little lacing. Smell is barnyard, hay, horse blanket, tart lactic, and musty grain. Taste is musty dirt and grain, lemony tart, and slightly sweet, underripe green apples. Extremely dry, fizzy carbonation. Great ( yet sadly only real gueze or lambic in Texas). m4rest88 (44), Beverly Hills, California, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours with an average sized head with a white coloration. The head longevity is mostly diminishing and the body clarity is cloudy and murky, while the body hue is yellow.
The beer smells grainy with a mixture of grass and wood - strong barnyard aroma.
The beer’s initial flavor is moderately sweet and the finish is lightly sour - a pretty clean tasting finish. The body feels light and dry to the palate and has lively carbonation. Overall a pretty good Lambik!
