330 mL corked. Pours a beautiful hazy yellow with a two-finger, off-white, rocky head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma is extreme sour apples (almost like Warhead candies), Brett, sour peaches, grapefruit, oak, and lemon. Taste is Warhead watermelon candy, sour green apples, peaches, lemon, sweeter cantaloupe shows through eventually. Very drinkable and refreshing. Long, sour aftertaste. I really love this. An excellent lambic.

355ml green capped and corked bottle purchased at the liquor store in Tyngsborro, Mass. Pours a crystal-clear golden body with virtually no head to speak of. Smells fruity and acidic. Tastes fruity sweet and acidic sour. Light in body with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable. I wish I had more to say about this beer, I really enjoyed it and it’s the best Gueuze I’ve had thus far, and it disappeared more quickly that I would have liked.

Interesting aroma...wide array of fruits, notes of nut, wood and a faint hint of floral/herbal/grass. Flavor is similar, with some notes of grapefruit, grass, oak and something that I might liken to leather. Overall the impression is of a complex and aged champagne.

Thanks KnN for sharing. This had some earthy band-aids, and a strong sour acidic vinegar, but it was the tart green apples pulling through to the end that made it all worth it. Fun!

Pours a hazy gold with very white head. Smells dry, winey. It is refeshingly tart, almost grapefruit in flavor. 100th Rating! :)

It is an unfortunate circumstance that the large majority of Belgian lambics and Gueze do not make it here to the states, least of all, Florida. That doesn’t stop me from loving them any less; in fact, it probably serves to increase my love for these elusive artisanal beers.

Rich golds, straws, and hays descend unto my glass while bubbles lazily make their way to the surface, only to run into a wall of white foam that lingers long into our session together. Her nose is tart, sour, fruity, funked, and sharp; all the characteristics I look for in a Gueze. Apples, apricots, peaches, and cantaloupe kiss my lips and tongue with not-quite-ripe tart sweetness while barnyard funk and supple leather permeates the palate. There is some greenness to the nose which resembles green bananas hanging off the tree while lemon spritzer tickles my nose just as a sharp sour snap brings me right back to the beginning. Just think: at one time not too long ago before modern convenience took over brewing and bulldozed over many beer styles, almost all beers would have a touch of funk and Brett in their palate. It was expected and oft times prized when balanced properly which would also explain to some extent how and why the beers of yore were so thirst-quenching. Acidic drinks are the ultimate palate refreshers, something to keep in mind the next time you are offered a wild beer. Blissfully smitten, I dive right into her inviting depths, and it is long before I emerge once more. Brisk, clean, tart, tingly, and funky. She proceeds along my tastebuds in a sensory assault of sweet then sour then piercingly tart with pinpoint carbonation bursting like fireworks atop my tongue. Peach and apricot skin leads into a lingering finish of wood, dust, and leather before being washed away by my ever burgeoning thirst. As I pour the rest of my bottle into my glass, I make sure to swirl as much of the dregs off the bottom as possible. The added fullness is immediately apparent in mouthfeel, body, weight, and overall pungency of her palate. Her tartness continues with delicious fruit skins, no meat please, along with some creamed bananas for a smooth ride. No one flavor or aroma overwhelms, and while I enjoy a touch more funk, dryness, and leather in my Gueze, she is a great starting point for those who are a bit unsure of this artisanal beer style.

Their fruit lambics are good but a bit sweetish. The Cuvee Renee really is where Lindemans shines. They offer two Gueze, but the only one you really need to worry about is this one. Just as the Belgians have done for 400+ years, embrace your wild side and savor the thirst-quenching delights of the Cuvee Renee Gueze.

Corked and capped bottle. poured a pretty deep orange color with a thin white head. Aroma was yeast, tart citrus, some solid funk, some barnyard notes in there too. Flavor was tart, acidic, vinegar, spicy, a bare hint of sweetness with some really great fruit notes. Wonderful tasting. Really nice beer. I’ll have to look for it again.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear orange golden with a small frothy off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a spicy citrus and yeast. Thin mouthfeel with a sour tart with citrus and clove. Easy to drink, did not get the "champagne" taste from the description. A good Lambic from Lindemans.
