Very slight fruit and clove with huge sour apple notes. Hazy orange/gold, almost looks like peach nectar. Extremely unique beer. Had a musty (in a good way) attack, with strong apple cider vinegar bitterness. Reminded me of a Kombucha drink. No hop characteristics to speak of--which I believe is typical for the style. With the exception of being completely devoid of any sweetness, the finish was reminiscent of Champagne. Took a bit to get used to, but halfway through the bottle, I really started appreciating this style. Definitely an acquired taste, but absolutely worth trying.

2005 vintage, corked 750 ml. Pours a clear and gorgeous light caramel golden hue with a soft whipped cream head and some massive bubbles in its bead. Nose has that classic leathery gueuze aroma along with tart hints of green apples and sourdough bread. Full on the palate, with a champagne spritziness, starting with sour apple acidity before melding towards a more flowery, astringent finish, ending clean and moreish. Brilliant, if you’re into this sort of thing.

Aroma has the lambic funk, but is marred slightly by a sticky sweet note. Slightly too sweet carry through to the flavor, but otherwise is quit nice. Green apple tartness with a bit of apricot.

750 mL bottle. Poured a light orange with a small white head. Aroma of barnyard funk, tart fruits. Taste was of tart raspberries and apple. I liked this one because it wasn’t TOO sour and was easy to drink. An excellent gueuze.

Bottle, not actually sure what vintage but suffice it to say it wasn’t old. Nice aroma of funk, sour and tart, light fruits. Flavor continued to exhibit perfect balance between the typical gueuze flavors, and very drinkable, but for me there was no edge...what do I mean by that...I’m not entirely sure...but there are plenty of other ratings here that are probably more comprehensible than "lacking an edge." In any event, very enjoyable brew.

Bottle from Trenton Takeout. Orange pour with thin head. Sour like aroma and fruity. Actually the flavor was quite enjoyable for Lambic which is a style I am not fond of. Malty and creamy.

Vintage 1994: Poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized off-white head. Nice funky yeasty aroma with some spicy notes. Tart flavor with some yeasty funk. Tart fruits. Light body and a pleasure to dirnk.

Bottle, Biertempel, Brugge. Slightly hazy yellowy gold with a thin white head that bubbles away furiously. Nose is a dry gueuzey, brut, slightly ammoniaesque tone of beer and fizzy sourness. Mouth follows in sour style with lots of sourness, tart crab apple, some teak and that wonderful balanced dry gueuze sourness, quenching yet dry. Excellent gueuze.
