[Bottle] Pours orange with a thin white head. Aroma is sour, but there is an unpleasant odor in there too that I cannot quite pin down. Fairly sour with the taste too, but nothing really going on with it. Short, very dry finish. Really not that good.

Draught @ Den Tatoverede Enke. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Clear and flat looking body with a golden color. Spare lacework. Very fruity sweet aroma with notes of apple, light leather notes, citrus and vinegar. Some sweet berries as well. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with light acidic. Sweet fruity finish. Quit sweet for a Gueuze I thought.

poured into flute from 75cl bottle. I instantly think champagne at the sight. Maybe a slightly sour aroma. Nice tart flavour. I’m not a gueze fan but this was pleasant.

bottle. my first real gueuze. pours a clear copper with a thin head that quickly fades to a film and leaves very little lacing. smells of sour cherry with lemon in the background. tastes just like it smells, with grapefruit and a hint of wood waiting to surprise you. it’s also got a good nutty malt flavor enjoying the wood’s company. finishes quite an enjoyable tart, with sweet and sour fighting a surprising (yet slight) bitterness. a lot of, but not an unenjoyable amount of, carbonation.

I’ll admit I was nervous to try this beer. I’m not a huge lambic fan and knew this was gonna be sour stuff. Luckily, I mustered the courage- and I’m so glad I did. Champage-like qualities are instantly noticable. Smells a bit like vinegar, and has a top note reminiscent of apples (that martinelli’s sparkling apple cider). Pours golden with minimal head. I’d drink this over Framboise anyday.

Small bottle branded ’s Lands Souvenirs du Terroir-Gueuze de Bruxelles, best before Dec 2006. Hazy, glowing orange colour with a modest head- quite dark for a geuze. Complex sweet aroma with some sour fruit yoghurt, raisins and apples. Sweet and sour flavours with woody dryness towards the finish. Good fruit. I would have said that this is a very good faro, should have been labelled as such. But I enjoyed it nevertheless.

bottle @ papago 9/22/07. cloudy iced tea color with no head and lively carbonation. aroma is woody, herbal, red apples, sweetness and citrus/sourness. flavor is only slightly soured. much like yoghurt or real sour cream. its got hints of honey, really nice apple cider vinegar and fresh red apples with a medium mouth feel. it gets creamier as it warms. it’s a bit sweet and not nearly as sour as expected but it is smooth and refreshing.

Pours a dark gold into the glass with minimal white head. Aroma is slightly funky with some vinegar-like odors. Taste is really nice with a champagne quality on the palate and something that reminds me a little of apple juice. Really surprised at how much I am enjoying this beer.
