Caramel, fruity (apple and cherry) aroma, with just a bit of barnyard funk. Flavor of apple, caramel and a touch of barnyard. Quite sweet indeed, though without being awful. There is a slightly bitter dryness at the finish, and some cardboard too. Reasonable sourness too. Ok, though too sweet and gets annoying by the end of the 250 ml bottle.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Orange beer with mild white head. Aroma is fruitfull, very sweet, blums, bananas and raisins. Same elements are found in the flavour but balance is better,; sourness, fruits, home-made juice and old shoe-bottom. Sticky and medium carbonated palate. Weird, "home-made" beer that I need to learn this style. handsomjan (4), Taipei, Taiwan does not count | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 27, 2009 375 ml bottle (named as Gueuze Foudroyante). Taiwan. The muddy amber color with thin head. It has hints of apple aroma, but disappear quickly. The strong sour palate gives me a deep impression, like premature plum or pineapple fruity flavor. After a mouthful drinking, the bitterness in the finish becomes obvious. In words, the characters of this beer are only sourness and bitterness without so much complexity. rosenbergh (987), Helsinki, Finland

Dark amber colour with small off-white head. Fruity, sugary, sour aroma. Flavour is also mixture of fruity sugary sweetness and sourness. Some hints of sour apple and grapefruit. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Mellow sourness with that signature Lindemans sweetness. Slightly prickly and highly drinkable. I would like to see what happens to this with age. Davros (249), Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Crystal clear burnished-gold pour. Thick white head faded quickly.
Aroma is a mix of sweet malt, leathery/goaty funk, a hint of the sourness to come and some faint light fruit. Perhaps too much unsupported goaty-ness.
Flavour is as expected: a mix of sweet and sour with a faint hint of horsy barnyard. The sweetness becomes a bit overpowering later on. A slight hint of grapefruit-like bitterness in the finish.
Light body. Mild carbonation - I would have liked more. Mildly tart.
A very gentle gueuze, good for those who are new to the style. Agree with those who say it is more of a faro. MrChopin (703), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Completely transparent red-amber, small white head. Hopefully the nose is a shadow of what it once was: cork kills almost everything. Also some lemon and apple. Sweet, syrupy fruit flavor, maybe strawberry, a little cork. No brett elements to speak of, no acidity, no sourness. Thick, low carbonation, super sugary. This is more of a syrupy, sugary fruit beer than anything, but overall quite disappointing after those cork notes, even given that I wasn’t expecting much.
