Hazy dark amber colour, large to moderate off-white head. Sweet and sourish aroma, reminiscent of some cheap white wines, hints of oak, cider apples, rotting berries and barnyard too. Flavour is very sweet, sweeter than any other gueuze I’ve had (not that I’ve had very many), strong notes of rotting fruits and berries, sourish but not astringent. Short sourish-sweet aftertaste. Worth a try, but won’t buy again. slang (402), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2006 Smells of the same sweet/sour as the others. Above average carbonation, looks amazing in the glass first, & is very complex and tart... at first. The finish kinds sucks. The last few inches in my glass looks like piss pond water beer,. Odd, but some how still prob. my favorite of theirs’. Just too sweet, not really dry enough. Bottled, by the way. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2006 Pours a hazy honey brown, nice thick head. After having all the fruit versions I see where they all came from. Pretty sweet and sour, big apple aroma and flavor, everything was there except the fruit like in all the others. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2006 The bottle poured a crystal clear medium dark amber liquid with a small smooth white head. The head was mostly lasting and left some lacing on the glass. My nose was met with a sour fruitiness of blackberries or raspberries. The body was light to medium with a smooth carbonation and slightly watery texture. The flavor was moderately tart at first leaving me almost puckering. The finish was average in length and the tartness continued throughout. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 11, 2006 Sweet, Round and mellow. Mothfeel is thick, with notihng complicated or refined. The pour is a little dull, with minimal life in the body. A little apple, a little orange and a lot sweet. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2006 I’m very partial to lambics so that probably explains this rating some what. A excellent sour apple aroma with no head at all. A body of an apple juice quality with vinegar accents. Good sharp ending. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2006 This is like the malt likkkka style for Lambics. A haggard Gueuze for the belgian bums? Had a few qualities though that I love in certain beers, but even though I liked parts of it, doesn’t seem up to snuff. Too hard to find for what it is. Rastacouere (5559), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Feb 5, 2006 Orangey body, neglectable head. Repulsive nose trying to insert yeasty and phenolic flavours in the middle of a powder sugar mess. Apple candy cider and musty sugars lay still on the palate which nonetheless shows a good fruit range, but such artificial sweetness I would barely tolerate in a lemonade, so calling this a gueuze is an abomination. When putting commercial values so far above quality that is within your range (cuvee rené) becomes a routine, you deserve the bad reviews you obtain. Candy... Oww I need a strong word for putrid. Help! I’ll avoid getting another bottle as soon as possible to see if there was something right with this one.
