bu11zeye (3573), Frisco, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 (750ml bottle, bottled 21/12/06, bb 21/12/2012) Pours a lightly hazy glowing ruby body with a tall quickly dissipating light pink head. Aroma of barnyard, mustiness, sour, and some bubble gum. Flavor is moderately acidic with somewhat restrained cherry sourness, but yet tart enough to make this a quite enjoyable easy drinking thirst quencher for a nice summer’s afternoon.
JK (2342), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Jun 28, 2008 It was good of Joebrew to share this rare beer, carried on his back from Belgium. Distinctive Lindeman’s yeast in the aroma with cherry. Flavor has more yeast, a yeasty beer like all of Lindeman’s products, as well as more cherry and fruit flavor. Just a little sugar, and much more sour than it is sweet, unlike their other fruit lambics. Sour, but not like a Cantillon or Hannsens. Very nice bright red appearance. Well carbonated. Thanks Joe. LawStudent09 (313), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jun 27, 2008 Thanks to Joebrew. Bright red pour with a finger thick whitish head that disipates quickly. Funky aroma with a touch of chopped cherry on the nose. Funky taste with some citrus and sour cherry with a hint of sweet as well. HogTownHarry (3129), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2008 Bottle (750ml - green, corked). Shared by swoopjones with blankboy, biegaman and rudolf. Fantastic share, Mike - many thanks! Poured slightly cloudy ruby-red, with an average lasting pinkish-white head. Solid acidic funky/cherry aroma, hints of oak and lemon; rich and appealing, just the thing for dessert. The taste followed - I could have hoped for more complexity, but it delivered yeast, sour cherry and tons of puckering funk in spades, nicely underpinned by a thick sweet candy malt base. Sticky, acidic, thick, decently carbonated, long sour finish - what’s not to love? The concensus at the table was this is vastly underrated. 2006 Vintage, bottle #06667 swoopjones (1018), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 25, 2008 Bottle. Shared with HogTownHarry, Blankboy, Rudolf & Biegaman. Pours a reddish pink color. Aroma is somewhat sour with light to medium funkiness. Some geuze-ish funkiness, barnyard, light mustiness, That about uses up all my lambic description knowledge. Enjoyable. Thanks IPFreely for telling me to buy this in Antwerp badgerben (2990), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 16, 2008 Thanks to Joebrew for carting this one back to our shores and sharing. Dark red color with a thin head. Light sour aroma, along with wheat and a dry barnyard dustiness. Both the sourness and wheat are light in the taste. Very little cherry, not even close to their powerfully sweet cherry regular kriek.
