Flavor is much the same, a little sweeter than I was expecting, but very fruity and flavorful with a nice light wood finish. By leaps and bounds the best Lindemans product I’ve ever had. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Sour cherry and chalk nose, actually a bit like a cantillon kriek smell, but rather vivid with the cherry...bright ted color and nice pink head. Dry, somewhat medicinal cherry flavors..like sour candy this one. Nice. Oakes (8152), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Blood red. Bright. Pink head. Pedio nose with light cherry and some barrel wood. Refreshing and tart, with a smooth cherryish, woody character. Tannic finish. Nice, well-balanced kriek, where the cherry accents rather than overpowers. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2009 750ml corked and capped bottle from Duncan Murray Wines, 5.3%. Octo took one sip of this and crinkled her nose up so I had to drink the lot. Pours burgundy with an outrageous pink fizz of a head collapsing in seconds. Nose of mildew, vinegar, chlorine, horse, musty cellars, slight cheese and sharp acidic fruit. The acidity is puckering but not heartburn-inducing; drinks tart and tanging with an approachable balance of edgy fruit and brie rind dankness like a mellow but authentic lambic, Drie Fonteinen maybe. Would never have identified the cherries blindfolded, but it’s no bad thing. Carbonation bright and tingling. Wish I had another bottle. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
