Aroma is only slightly lactic sour, but strongly sweet candy cherry. Flavor was sweet cranberry-cherry punch then a light sourness that finishes slightly floral. I think this would’ve made a decent substitute for wine but needed a bit more aging to be a good beer. Just too sweet. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Aroma is very cherry, with some hints of yeast. Flavor is cherry/sour cherry...the cherry reminds me of some cherry cough drops that I’ve had. Over all quite an interesting combination of sweet and then sour cherry with yeast in between. after4ever (2809), Brier, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Sep 15, 2009 12-oz., heavy green glass, corked, capped, and foiled. Kind of a PITA. Pours a very dark garnet with a bright pink frothy head and plenty of stringy pinky lacing. Gimungous synthetic cherry nose hits you as soon as you open it, and doesn’t stop hitting you until you somehow get away. Kind of makes you feel like Muhammad Ali in Kinshasa, fighting a huge purple and pink George Foreman in the early rounds. Creamy medium body. Unbelievably cloying sweet cherry candy mid-palate. Somewhere between cheap ice cream and expensive cough syrup. Long sticky white sugar finish. Total insulin shock. anders37 (4775), Malmö, Sweden

Has a sweetish fruity cherry aroma with some tart hints. Sweet fruity cherry flavor. Has a very sweet fruity cherry finish. KornDogg (218), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2009 A very deep red with a thin purple head. Very heavy cherry fruit note with some light tartness. Flavor mimics the nose. Sugary feel to this lighter brew. Very easy to down as it tastes almost like cherry juice with just a slightly more tart/light farmhouse note to it. Overall a decent brew. boamr (138), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Pours a deep red color with a fine white head to it. Smells just like Vicks 44. Has a nice cherry. Has a nice cherry flavor up front but turns out very sweet. Way to sweet for me. Sonicdescent (381), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Aug 23, 2009 As far as Kriek, this is a completely different ballgame than the Cantillon, but the uninitiated will appreciate this with awe, as it tastes no more strong than a sparkling grape juice.
Appearance = pretty to look at. Dark red liquid with a light pink head and lacing.
Smell - cherries cherries cherries and a smidgen of a wine-smell
Taste - I prefer the Cantillon, but as said before it’s difficult to compare the two as the Lindeman’s overrides the sour taste with a whole load of sweet. It’s enjoyable.
Mouthfeel - yet another parallel to sparkling grape juice.
All things equal, I’d rather drink a Cantillon Kriek, but this is an easy to drink brew.
