Poored properly this beer produces a well formed pink to purplish head with a great cherry aroma. The flavor is on the sweet side with strong cherry notes and a mild beer flavor. The finish is slightly tart. This lambic is actually quite complex in structure and gains spiciness as it warms. Overall, not a bad fruited beer. boojummy (50), Medford, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Haven’t had many other lambics, but I’m pleased with this one. Had it in a Lindeman’s glass that my parents gave me for my birthday. Pours a dark ruby color, little head. Noticable cherry aroma. Pleasant sour cherry tartness, but not much else flavor-wise. Approachable enough that you could serve it to non-beer drinkers. ALLOVATE (1126), Perth, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2006 A tad shy of the Framboise, this was not a bad drop but lacked any lambic-style complexities to be a showstopper. Poured into a flute from the crowned-corked bottle at just on cold. Frothed up on the pour to display a dense, creamy pink head that persisted for the length yet left only minor lacing. The body of beer a sparkling ruby-red. Pronounced candyish cherry nose - quite ripe - with some notes of cough medicine and a sharp acidity that tickles the nostrils. Late hints of vine-clippings and dust developed after a few short swirls in the glass. Quite light in body and frothy on the tongue. Cherries are in full dominance and are sweet, tart and similarly candyish in flavour. Light acidity but more sweet fruit sugars attack the roof of the mouth to give it a nice roundness before a long fruity and powdery, spicy swallow that showed good length. Remained very fresh and was considerably easy to drink with more haste than the full-throttle Framboise. Just didn’t excite me in the same way. Refreshing!!! | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2006 This dark red lambic ale poured with a lacy pinkish head. The cherry flavor is strong and sweeter than most other krieks I have tried. Not a classic, but very drinkable. bluevegie (2222), Perth, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2006 Light coloured clear cherry red body with a pretty pink head. Good head retention and half decent lacing. Aroma of cherries and sherbet. Smooth taste, sweet with this one being less syrupy than the framboise, good carbonation and a medium body. I could drink more of this one than last night’s framboise but I actually rated this one lower!
