Dark reddish hue, average pink head. Sweet and sour aroma, cherry, sourness, some bread. Sweet flavour, some light sourness. Sweet and light citric finish. Easy to drink, but not as overwhelming sour as most commercial Krieks.

Here I came again, on hands and knees, crawling back to the fruity Lindeman Lambics. This occasion was a little different though. The last two times we squared off I was the definitive loser, caught with colored foams on my lips, stretched wide in a massive grin. This time, with the Kriek, perhaps in the bloodlust of battle my worthy, sanguine colored foe lost his sense of martial style and went excessively sweet. You see, this cherry flavored lambic is good and sweet, but too much so. It is a deluge of cherry flavor that cloys the purpose of the beer. Every sip reminded me either of cherry pop-tarts, or those suckers of old, the cherry dum-dums I got for free at the bank. They were good then, but that was back when I was a young stripling and had a temporary immunity to diabetes. That’s when my goal was to make sure my blood had more sugar granules than platelets. But now I’m looking for a little moderation, and that’s where the Kriek fails. But otherwise it has a very fine look and smell that contribute to the lucid presentation of a fine but excessively sweet Kriek. Looks like I’ll be sticking to the Framboise and the Peche come time for the “girly beers”.

Pours a deep, purplish red in color with a lavender-like head. Aroma is strong cherry with a dose of bready yeast. Flavor is sweet and tart; malty with a strong dark cherry taste and a lambic sourness; the finish is earthy and citric. Nice ... far superior to the framboise, in my opinion. Very refreshing.

750 ml bottle. Poured a deep red color with a reddish pink head. Smells strongly of cherry with a hint of malt. Tastes like tart cherry. By far the best cherry beer I have tasted

Im very suprised this is rated so highly. Aroma is super cherry like more cherry than cherryade and cherry syrup put together. Taste is also very cherry, though not as sweet as the aroma may have suggested with a little oaky character, but no sourness at all, though my sample isnt very cold, infact maybe even warm. One for someone who likes smirnoff ice with a differance.

Bottle called Lindemans Souvenirs du Terroir Kriek de Bruxelles (from Delhaize). Deep cherry red kriek with a rosé head. Cherry lollipop aroma with little vanilla notes. Very sweet kriek with some little sour notes but not satisfying. Rather artifical and unpleasant. Medium bodied. Way to sweet. May 3, 2005.

I’ve been reading and hearing about lambics for years, just never tried one. Oh my, what I’ve been missing! Pours with a fizzy, yet solid head, and a wonderful ruby red color. If I did not know I was drinking a beer, I wouldn’t have guessed. In fact, I had my wife try it - she HATES beer - and she liked it! It took a while for me to notice the maltiness at the end. A really neat experience - don’t know that i could drink a lot at one sitting, but I think I’ve fallen in lust, uh I mean love, with this stuff. Makes me proud to be half Belgian!

750 ml bottle. Poured a deep red color with a reddish pink head. Smells strongly of cherry with a hint of malt. Tastes like tart cherry. Served chilled. I don’t typically enjoy cherry flavored things, but I found this good. It surprised me.
