This not my type of beer. It is a cherry flavored Lambic. The sweet beer lacks the bitterness that I enjoy. The Kriek poured a deep cherry red with a pinkish frothy head. This was a christmas gift that waited in the refrigerator until I was ready. The spontaneous fermentation is a fascinating method of making beer.

This is one those "I can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet" kinda deals. Anyway, its red, as one might expect. Pink head (insert joke here...), as one might continue to expect. Smells nice, like cherries, Flavor is syrupy and artificial, though, like cough syrup. The Framboise is much better.

Sorry but I just don’t get these. The cherries tasted abit synthetic and the sweetness overpowered the tartness for me. Too sugary.

This poured a cherry red color obviously, with a pinkish head. Aroma was lots of sour cherries, some funk and some artificial sweetness. Flavor was sweet and tart cherries, a bit artificial, but with some lactic sourness and funk.

Bottle by ESH. Pours a red body with a light pink head. Sweet sugar cherry notes with a light woodiness. Sweet and soda like adjuncts with a slightly tart finish. okay.

Dark red with brown hints throughout and the actual pieces of the fruit can be seen floating around in it. It also has a large pink frothy head which lasts throughout almost the entire tasting process. The smell is exactly what I was expecting: tart cherries. I kind of wish that the taste was more like the smell but unfortunately it has a distinct artificial/fake taste to it. Overall it is a nice smooth Lambic but there is just something missing.

Tasted 2009-12-14. 25cl bottle. Had this both fresh and two years old. The fresh version has a very sweet and candy like aroma - almost like almonds. No real funk to detect. There’s cherries in the aroma, but it’s a little artificial. The taste is better, but still not quite there; Too sweet and too little funk and tartness. It has a little acidity, but not enough. The old version is exactly the same(!) - I had hoped it would be a little more dry, but I suspect all the lovely bacterias in this one has been killed by pasteurisation. How sad.

Smells very sweet with some cherry. Tastes sweet dry cherry with a touch of alcohol, short, sour finish. White Lacing. It is a little too candy-like and lacks that belgium funk so enjoyable in a Kriek. Lacks depth and complexity of flavor. Some of the cherry flavor comes off a little artificial.
