kappldav123 (1790), Markkleeberg, Germany Oct 22, 2009 Unlabeled bottle from DHVL. Corked and capped. Dark orange in the glass, very small head. Acidic aroma. Starts strong and sourish, woody and grasy notes, also fruity like lemon and apricot. Sourishness is increasing, finish really prickly and long lasting. Very enjoyable beer! plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Sep 14, 2009 Bottle at Bishops Arms. Bit hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is fruit, orange, citrus and vinegar. Flavour is fruity with notes of citrus, acid and light dust. Ends up citric and light acidic. Anker (305), Hillerød, Denmark Sep 10, 2009 Bottle at Bishops Arms Stockholm.
Pours hazy golden with a minimal white head.
A dry and dusty aroma hits the nose, with notes of grape, wood and a little fruit.
The flavour is mild with dusty notes along with a little grape and fruit, ending in a lemon like after taste. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Aug 28, 2009 From De Heeren Van Liedekercke; vintage 1996, 13+ years old; corked bottle Cloudy copper color; small head. Perfumy aroma, delicate Brett, pleasant yellow fruits mellow seduction and lemon sourness, well balanced; light wood too. Fizzy mouthfeel, astringent and acidic, woody, tannic, lemony; the final acidity is a bit aggressive; the flavor is not as impressive as the aroma. It doesn’t reach the top. But it’s very interesting. Bov (5403), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 27, 2009 courtesy of fiulijn; 1996 vintage - cloudy reddish-orange colour with a little foam made of big bubbles; aroma of pineapple, raspberries and cherries; a touch of vinegar and sut; subtle carbonation and with a solid acidity, moderate malt body; fizzy yet creamy finish with long fruity and acidic notes; quite dry aftertaste of sour apples - absolutely beautiful yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 11, 2009 75 cL bottle at DHVL. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is nice fruity and mild dry brettish, light barnyard and horseblanket accents, but quite smooth and towards fruity as the dominant impression. Sweet flavoured at first with a light acidic and fruity note following. Dry acetone like before the finish. Medium and fruity finish. Surprisingly good carbonation. Nice. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jan 11, 2009 Bottle bought at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Good citric aroma with a nice dry fruitiness, dry grapes and grapefruit. Cloudy dark orange colour. Almost no head. Lemony citrus flavour, some moldiness. Sorry to say, but this tastes mostly just like lemon juice to me. Very low carbonation, but not entirely flat. Good of course, but not fantastic. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Dec 28, 2008 75cl bottle at D.H De Liedekercke. 2000 vintage. No label. Clear amber with a small bubbly head. Nose is sweet, old, sour, matured, wood and fruity. Wow. Smooth, mellow, slight tart, crisp and dry taste. A bit dusty and medium to low carbonation. Good drinkability. Lovely.
