Commercial Description:
DISCLAIMER:
This is a special release from Lindemans. These are bottles which were intended to become Lindemans Gueuze Cuvée René, but they lacked to start a second fermentation. The contents is a 2 years old lambik (1994) blended with a 1 year old lambik (1995). It is a 1996 vintage and was released from the brewery in 2006.

Most of the bottles were exported to Sweden (Systembolaget) and sold as "Lindemans Oude Lambik". Some of them stayed in Belgium. This beer can therefore also be tasted at Heeren van Liedekercke. It is named "Lindemans Loeierik" over there.

Because of the blend this is not the same as "Lindemans Oude Lambik".

If you had a draught version, then you should definitely add a rating for "Lindemans Oude Lambik".

Bottled (1996 vintage. thanks omhper!). Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is sour apricot and earth mainly. Flavour is sour fruits, some slight balancing sweetness, and almost like hints of buckthornberries. East thing to drink, yet at the same time very nice.

Bottled 75 cl, vintage 1996
This is special bottling for Swedish market I think. Hazy orange-apricot color, no head. Sour and fruity (apricot, peach) aroma. Light, easy to drink -lambic. Dry but not really sour, aftertaste is more sourish with nice fruityness. Also woody and earthy notes.

(Bottle) Pours golden/amber. Acid aroma with wood and unsweetend berries but also a bit sweet with small hints of apricot and strawberry jam. Medium acid, sour flavour with a vinegar touch. Well balanced. Low carbonation. Pretty dry ending with fresh wood. Medium body.

Bottle, 1996 vintage from systembolaget. Pale amber with a very short white head. Aroma of wood and peaches. Flavour is rather mild, not very sour, and with a short finish. (8,4,7,4,16) [edit] Had another go, ohhhh it’s wonderful...

A hazy orange beer with a rim of beige head. The aroma is acidic and woody with notes of sour berries and grapes. The flavor is rather acidic with notes of grapefruit and lemon, leading to a dry woody finish.

(75 cl bottle from Swedish Systembolaget, bottle 727 of 1042) 1996, labeled 6% ABV. Shady champagne color, small white head. Hugy fruity scent of apricot and apples, sour and fresh. Sour and refreshing taste. Sour aftertaste. No bitterness. Soft nice mouthfeel. Especially the aroma is amazing and very complex, I feel lucky to have been able to taste this one.
