Commercial Description:
Only available straight from cask at the brewery or in a very few traditional pubs in the direct neighborhood of Vlezenbeek.

Attention! This is not the bottled 1996 vintage to be found in Swedish Systembolaget or in speciality shops in Belgium. If you had "Lindemans Oude Lambik 1996 Vintage" or "Lindemans Loeierik", then you have to enter a rating for "Lindemans Oude Lambik (Loerik)".

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Lindemans Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Lindemans Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik". If in doubt, message JorisPPattyn.

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Reddish golden, near clear. Aroma of barnyard and cobwebs. Rounded with only light lactic acidity. Not as hardcore as for instance Cantillon, but it’s really complex and fresh with notes of grass and it’s surprisingly hoppy. This is a lambic that really grew on me the further down the glass I got.

Draught @ 17th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2008.
Unclear medium orange color with a virtually none appearance, virtually none lancing head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. (240508)

Very muddy dun colour. Megastank nose of rotting fruit, pear and light barrel. Thin and cidery with a light toastiness. As it goes with unblended lambic, you don’t always win.

4 year old from a plastic barrel at The Rake. Dark gold, some ok lambic aroma. Bit of puke on this in the mouth. Not great. The puke makes it very difficult to drink.

Draught @ Café het Vagevuur Vlezenbeek. Orange blonde color, still cloudy. Tangerine, banana, milk and flour in the aroma. Sour, milky flavor with hints of yoghurt, lots of tangerine and grapefruit. Nice one!

A Mes rate. Draught at DHVL with our Tom.
This was really rather good. I wasn’t expecting much but it was so full of character. Tarty, yet very drinkable. Plenty of funk but not over the top. As Tom says, there is a certain cheesey feel about it. Went really well with our food. Good stuff.

Draught at de hearen. Alround rating: Tart, apply, buttery malts, the old cheesy hops are awsome. Totally no carbonation, massivly drinkable. Great stuff.
