Commercial Description:
Lindemans Tea Beer is a lambic beer brewed with barley malt, wheat and hops. A spontaneous fermentation and maturation on tea leaves results in an artisanal tea-flavoured beer. Adding lemon juice we become a surprising "sweet-sour" lemon taste. Drink it icecold.

(Bottle 25 cl) By now I really shouldn’t let myself be surprised by anything when it comes to Belgian beers - but a tea beer?? Come on...! I guess the growing popularity of ice tea is the explanation for this, and really it is rather close to a soft drink. Clear, amber colour with a small, fizzy head. First impression is sweet and sour - sweet citrusy - but quickly I sense the tea flavours although they are rather fleeting. Not exactly unpleasant but not for every day either. 230999

Bottle, Brussels, May 2005. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of tea, cherry, lemon peel. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Bottle Amber, golden, pale body. White creamy head, which diminishes totally. Good lace. Peaches in the nose. Lightly sout, heavuly sweet initial flavour. Moderately sweet finish. Please don’t promote this, because I fear it would sell quite well anyway, but it would be another defeat for the artisnal beers.

Bottle. Sweet lemon and tea aroma. Medium tan color with small head. Very sweet lemon flavor - slight hint of tea and moderate sour finish. Tastes nice but very sweet.

Clear orange with a frothy sturdy off-white head. Sweet and rather cloying aroma with hints of tea leaves. Weird. Extremely sweet fruity flavor. Peaches and citrus. Too damn cloying....!

Bottled. Bronze colour, rich head. Very sweet and juicy. Rounded mouthfeel. Some lemon an tea. Not much of a beer, but as a sweet soft drink it’s not too shabby.

25 cl bottle. The description says "Best drunk ice-cold." - I tend to agree, if you would drink this beer at all it should be as cold as possible, since this is simply the awful. It looks okay, and the smell is’nt bad either. The taste is cloyingly sweet with a nice hint of tea. The lactic sourness is okay - but the lemon should have been omitted. I give it a six overall for the bold idea of adding tea and the fact that I generally don’t like faro’s very much (which I beleive this is at its heart)

Gueuze sourness in aroma with sweet green tea added. Bit of cardammon or cinnamon. Orange-amber clear with off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with nice sour-sweet balance, typical of the Lindemans line. Great green tea flavor, notes of rose. Finish is medium tart, with sugary undertones. After is mild with tea.
