| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Pours out a thick very dark brown with a quickly growing head that goes from medium brown to a pale tan. The aroma is nice and roasty. Chocolate, coffee, molasses, roasted malt, and some smoke. The flavor is similar, but nice and sweet with some a bitter coffee finish. Really dense mouthfeel and a chewy palate. Great stout. Sonicdescent (376), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2009 ppearance is good, a very dark brown and almost black hue with a nice crown of head that leaves some good lacing.
Smells very malty, molasses, chocolate, a hint of roasted malts. Something just slightly off, a slight sour smell.
Taste is good, but nothing outstanding here. This is a run of the mill stout that is good for its price. Surprisngly low on chocolate, I was waiting for it to hit and got nothing, instead you get a lot of cream and molasses. Again, good, but plain.
Mouth is a bit of a problem, the body is right on at thickness but it seemed way too bubbly for my stouty tastes.
Overall if I’m at a store and see a sixer of this next to a four pack of Great Lakes Blackout for the same price, I’m going to the GL every time. Just no reason to revisit this beer, though I can’t find anything to say outwardly negative. Just nothing special. mirjukka (702), LOHJA, Finland

Peace to my homies in war-torn Colombo (the capital of Sri Lanka) :Any fellow London ratebeerians trying to locate this eastern classic, ,there is a run down ghetto ass store in Twickenham (south west london called Bubbles)that usualy stocks it, thus i know this shit . Complex stouts like this comin’ outa the subcontinant -that’s part of the coolness. One of my fave music videos-"Save a Prayer" by duran duran waz filmed in Sri Lanka and ive alwayz liked the flare and unorthodox style the Sri Lankan cricket team play with. The beer is soulful shit ....Flavours show dark fruit ,like prunes and raisins...maybe a bit sweet and cloying for some palates ..nice beige dimpley head.Chocolate and oily thick ,chewey vibs.
