| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 24, 2003 The six pack of this I bought was in such bad shape, that it looked like it FLOATED here from Sri Lanka. But anyway......this has a deep, dark, black appearance and an aroma filled with dates, raisins, brown sugar and coffee. This is silky-smooth and chewy. It tastes like licorice, coffee, chocolate and currants. There is a lot of roastiness, bording on a smokey flavor. This leaves a tingly, enjoyable, alcoholic feeling on the tongue. A very pleasant surprise. nick76 (2669), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Updated: Jul 7, 2008The aroma is sweet with some off aroma but it’s not so strong as to make it undrinkable. There is also roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with a small tan head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is average. I am not one of those that think this is a great stout but it’s decent. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 10, 2000 A first for me a ’Tropical Stout’, lighter in body and not so harsch. Great nose, vanilla, chocolate, and a bit of the hops at the finish. Quite good and a 8.0 ABV, mild but pleasing. Aurelius (2652), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2002 A superior stout. Slightly olivine aroma, with good stout character. Flavor was nicely roasty, bitter, balanced and the palate was stellar. Fine, fine stout.
