Commercial Description:
Little Creatures was born to make a pale ale…a specific style of pale ale, a style that we are absolutely passionate about and one that we believe displays great balance of flavour and refreshment…complex yet highly drinkable. The beer's character is driven by the use of fresh whole hop flowers. Hop Flowers are carefuly selected that are bursting with aroma and contain all the essential oils and acids that deliver an uniqe flavour experience. Drink a few pints of this beer and you'll soon become one of us…a certified "hophead" craving those crisp citrus flavours of grapefruit and passionfruit and maybe a bit of honey, all backed up with a good balance of bitterness. If you're wondering what on earth malt or hops actually are then click on the two hop characters to the left and find out more. It's not just the hops that make Little Creatures Pale Ale what it is though. Selected malts are kilned in small batches to our specifications and are used exlusively in our pale ale. Two different yeasts are used to both ferment and bottle condition the beer. The latest technology and equipment is used to maintain absolute quality control and one of the main ingredients in the pale ale has got to be the amount of passion that it takes to produce a seriously good beer...we live for it! From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks, allowing for two weeks conditioning in the bottle after packaging. No artificial preservatives or additives are included, just great ingredients.

Hoppy aroma, Semi Opaque Appearence. Tastes hoppy, then sweet and fruity, slight taste of passionfruit with a bitter Finish. Excellent beer. Can honestly say it’s one of the nicest, if not the nicest, beers I’ve ever tasted. Best Australian beer by far.

On a good day... pungent american hop aromas, and flavours, assertive bitterness, and great sweet malt background. on a not so good day, turn all these elements down by half.

Slightly cloudy and orange/amber in colour. Frothy off white head which died back to a thin layer. Medium in body and carbonation. It has a fruity citrus and passionfruit aroma and flavour.Reminds me of James Squire Hop Thief Ale only better balanced with a medium bitterness in the finish.

"Pint" (20 oz.) bottle from Dan Murphy’s in Noosaville, Qld. (Thanks Mom). Poured a cloudy amber to orange color with a minimal spitty head. Aroma of honeyed cereal to light caramel malts with some nice ’fruit salad’ esters and flowery/citrus hops. Biscuity to light caramel malt flavors up against a predominantly bitter grapefruity hop profile. Fairly full bodied with fine carbonation. A little unbalanced in the sense that the hops seem to be blanketing/coating the malts rather than melding with them. Still, it’s nice to get a full pale ale with that zesty hop punch on the finish, which from my experience is rare in Oz.

A good beer but cant drink much of it yet have drunk loads of it. A bit cloying to the mouth with hops. Well balanced, fruity, citrus notes.

Draught @ Australian - Sydney. Mid golden with a bright nice full white head. Moderate grassy aroma. Well rounded hop balance with bitter finish that begs for another.

Pours a nice orange-gold, small whitish head. Nose is orange rind, some honeyed and toffee pale malts, a bit of grass in there as well. Taste started with an off-putting sweetness for me, with an orange component that certainly came from the hops but didn’t really accentuate anything. I thought this was a bit malt-centric, weirdly enough - perhaps the hops faded out with some time. Palate was a bit thicker than expected, with a moderately lively carbonation.
