Commercial Description:
Little Creatures was born to make a pale ale…a specific style of pale ale, a style that we are absolutely passionate about and one that we believe displays great balance of flavour and refreshment…complex yet highly drinkable. The beer's character is driven by the use of fresh whole hop flowers. Hop Flowers are carefuly selected that are bursting with aroma and contain all the essential oils and acids that deliver an uniqe flavour experience. Drink a few pints of this beer and you'll soon become one of us…a certified "hophead" craving those crisp citrus flavours of grapefruit and passionfruit and maybe a bit of honey, all backed up with a good balance of bitterness. If you're wondering what on earth malt or hops actually are then click on the two hop characters to the left and find out more. It's not just the hops that make Little Creatures Pale Ale what it is though. Selected malts are kilned in small batches to our specifications and are used exlusively in our pale ale. Two different yeasts are used to both ferment and bottle condition the beer. The latest technology and equipment is used to maintain absolute quality control and one of the main ingredients in the pale ale has got to be the amount of passion that it takes to produce a seriously good beer...we live for it! From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks, allowing for two weeks conditioning in the bottle after packaging. No artificial preservatives or additives are included, just great ingredients.

Glowing orange-blond color with small fluffy white-yellowish head. This beers has an elegant nose with hints of apricot-pit, delicate fruits, muscat-grapes, some butter-toffee, fresh sage, mint and nice Saaz hops. Taste is elegant and has a fine lightlyness with a medium body. There is a slight fizzyness on the pallet and has a fine touch of barley, some cerals, butter-cake, and some touches of caramelzed edges of a fruitpie. Then the more dry accents are coming up. Hints of apricot-pit, crispy skin of grapes, a faint nut-peel accent and a fine dosis of refreshing fresh herbs like, sage, crisy British watercress and fine hops. This beer is all about balance. Not a blockbuster but a very tasty and well balanced beer. Thanks a lot Joris for letting me taste this fine Pale-Ale

This was a surprise. I expected another weak, watery pale ale with little character and nothing to commend itself. For a pale ale, this was impressive. Golden body with a nice white head that decorated the glass with lacing as it edged its way downward. Nose was hoppy, some hints of baking bread, orange zest, spring grass. Light body with nice carbonation and pleasant mouthfeel. Nice, lingering hoppy flavor with notes of fruit. From Australia? Impressive. Little Creatures should be Austalian for beer.

Not my favourite style, but this one appears to be a good representative. It is certainly an interesting comparison to the Grand Ridge Gippsland Gold Pale Ale; they are probably the best of the style Australia has to offer, and yet are quite different in their character. A lovely luminous though slightly hazy orange/gold with a nice compact creamy white head. Plenty of flowery/citrusy hops aroma on top of a nice malt foundation. The flavour starts with spice and citrus hops with a hint of green grapes in the background. Biscuity malt is next, followed by a reasonbly big and dry hops finish. Overall impression is clean and elegant. Aftertaste is pleasant and lasts well. A good effort.

great beer! unique and interesting floral aromas and flavour. cloudy golden appearance, with decent head. starts sweet and malty, slowly becomes more bitter. by the end i’m desperate for another. pricey for an aus beer, but worth it.

Is this worthy of all the fuss? Is it as good as they say? Yes it is! Among the top three beers I’ve tasted while in Australia. Remarkable aromas of flowery hops that carry over into a light and fruity hoppy palate. Unique and terrific.

Bottled. Large frothy head that lasted a decent amount of time, over a golden marmalade coloured liquid. Aromas of apples and ginger in addition to the usual passionfruit/lychee. Trails of tiny bubbles speed their way to the top of the glass to prop up the falling head. The initial flavour is sweet and only slightly bitter, although the finish tends towards bitter. Great beer this. Probably the best Australian beer available throughout the country (and internationally).

I had this one on a picnic on a hot day in a beautiful park. It might influence the rating, but I definitely had a good experience with it. It’s very dry and quite complex. Not as bitter as some other pale ales.
