Commercial Description:
Little Creatures was born to make a pale ale…a specific style of pale ale, a style that we are absolutely passionate about and one that we believe displays great balance of flavour and refreshment…complex yet highly drinkable. The beer's character is driven by the use of fresh whole hop flowers. Hop Flowers are carefuly selected that are bursting with aroma and contain all the essential oils and acids that deliver an uniqe flavour experience. Drink a few pints of this beer and you'll soon become one of us…a certified "hophead" craving those crisp citrus flavours of grapefruit and passionfruit and maybe a bit of honey, all backed up with a good balance of bitterness. If you're wondering what on earth malt or hops actually are then click on the two hop characters to the left and find out more. It's not just the hops that make Little Creatures Pale Ale what it is though. Selected malts are kilned in small batches to our specifications and are used exlusively in our pale ale. Two different yeasts are used to both ferment and bottle condition the beer. The latest technology and equipment is used to maintain absolute quality control and one of the main ingredients in the pale ale has got to be the amount of passion that it takes to produce a seriously good beer...we live for it! From brewing to release, a batch of pale ale takes about six weeks, allowing for two weeks conditioning in the bottle after packaging. No artificial preservatives or additives are included, just great ingredients.

Aroma is really wow! with herbs and pineapple. Looks great too. Deep golden color, lots of bubbles, off-white head, very nice lace. Sweet, very malty, very hoppy, herbs, hint of pineapple. Quite full and stull sparkling and a little sticky. Very nice Aussie. Thanks eczematic.

Bottled. Mmmm! Gentle gold body, rasping aroma of hops and lemon zest, lip smacking hoppiness, realy refreshing.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours with an unreasonably large head, having exploded upon opening. Slightly cloudy ornage colour and an absolutely scrummy aroma - fresh, oily and very tempting. Superb beer, although with a harder edge than the smell suggested. Pine, hoppiness, easy drinking orange sunshine, but with a sharpness (ala grapefruit) which hits straight away and slices down the throat like metal. Full of flavour. Excellent. love this style!

I tried this beer for the first time out of curiosity after seeing it rated at the top of all the other Australian-made beers. I didn’t know what to expect from WA. What a surprise! I had thought my tastes were almost totally driven by sweet malts but hops certainly won me over here from the first heady aroma of herbs and oranges. That aroma carries through into the “hoppy”, slightly citrus palate which lingers satisfyingly in the aftertaste. This won’t be my last drop from over the border!

Bottle, from Sainsburys. Hazy amber gold, thin white head and moderate condition. Gentle peppery hops, some sweet chalky grain and faint chocolate malt in the nose, good piney hops and sweet malt in the mouth and lingering hops and chalky yeastiness in the finish.

Bottled. An orange coloured beer with no head. The aroma is very nicely hoppy with orange citrus fruit smells. The taste is sharp hops with again bitter orange fruits coming through. Very tasty and very hoppy for an APA.

Fully hazy, cidery aspect; little head, fast gone, whitish. Very grapefruity nose, pamplemousse, little grapes as well - and American-type hops, of course. Nearly tart hoptaste - full hopflavours, flavour of some soothing balm, again grapefruit and grapes, then sweetness (vanilla-like) peeps around the corner. Slightly buttery feel, then nearly adstringent from the hops. Looks little carbonated, but the MF gainsays this. Great pale ale, very American indeed; good one from down under.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Clean enough, with a touch of noble sweetness and some fragrant lemony hops. An advance on a German wine. I really liked this and will no doubt get some more.
