chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Feb 16, 2008 Cask (handpump) at The Palace, Leeds, October 2006. Almost black. A very flavoursome, full bodied mild that tends towards bigger styles such as porter or stout in character. Lots of burnt malt and dark chocolate. Also a touch of slightly sour porter-like bitterness. Quite firm mouthfeel. Very drinkable and served in cracking condition (or vice versa).
M0RHI (1026), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Jul 7, 2006 Cask, Derby Beer Festival. Ruby, no head. Slightly malty, slightly hoppy. Sulphur. Sweet and bitter, gets more bitter towards the end. Slight carbonation. Not great. Mes_and_Sim (4477), Highgate, Greater London, England May 12, 2006 A Mes rate:
Ramsgate beer fest.
Sweet aroma but bitter flavour. Not too impressed at all. Thin mouthfeel and a very quick finish. As bland as this rate is. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 15, 2006 Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2006, Ramsgate. Ruby colour with bubbly beige head. Toffee/treacle aroma, sour and sharp in mouth and then good attack of dryness towards the end. Certainly has a style all of its own. A cross between a mild and a porter for me.
