maniac (1949), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 9, 2008 On tap at Flying Saucer - Houston on 07/27/08. Very clear amber body with a small creamy head. Toasty and bready aroma. Toasty flavor with some caramel and pale malt. Medium body with moderate carbonation. bleeng (275), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Jul 30, 2008 On tap at the Flying Saucer-Addison TX. Poured in a pils glass at happy hour. Light brown with very little head. Pleasant malt aroma with no hint of hops. Tastes of light malts, some residual hops, and somewhat bitter. The taste fades on the end and is a bit sticky. Not one of LO’s better products but very drinkable as a session beer. travita (707), Lewisville, Texas, USA Jul 29, 2008 On tap at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth. Copper in color with a decent off white head. Smell is malts, some hops, and a little roastiness. Good balance in the feel and taste. Taste is malty and some fruits. specksnreds (50), USA Jul 21, 2008 A nice session lager. Weak in the finish and doesn’t linger on the palate long. Subtle malt, little hoppiness, but I enjoy it in a frosty mug. Good stuff, but not my first choice.
kmweaver (1948), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jul 20, 2008 Draft @ Brickskeller. Pours a clear orange color; thick, creamy white head with great retention and glistening lacing that coats the glass; great pour. Very fruity, spritzy aroma: raspberries (surprisingly), red fruits, light maltiness; fruity and lightly hopped. Light carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: red fruits, touches of pitty raspberries / raspberry syrup, and some basic candy maltiness; undercarbonated and underhopped, at least for what I’d like to see from an amber / vienna. Medium finish: toasty malts, red fruits, and wet malts; quite toasty end.
