marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 21, 2009 On tap at the brewery. This reddish amber ale poured with a thin off-white head and a fruity aroma. The flavor is all about yeast and oak. It is pleasantly sour and a bit smoky, with a warming alcohol trail. Very enjoyable. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 15, 2009 Draft at The Livery.
Poured cloudy orange color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast and tart fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation.
Medium to heavy yeasty sweet & sour flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite.
This is a standout beer.
Poured clear yellow-golden color with an average fizzy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex citrus, bubblegum and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite as it warmed.
This is a refreshing good beer. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Aug 16, 2009 On tap at the GTMW. Hazy orange with a thin off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma of heavy alcohol, grains, fruit and yeast. Taste of alcohol, over ripe fruit, spicy yeast with a somewhat dry finish. zizzybalubba (335), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2009 Sampled at GTMW 2009. Dark orange in color more similar to an IPA than a Tripel. Has a very thin white head. Lightly tart aroma. Lemony and peppery taste which sounds weird but was really quite good. Alcohol was not detectable especially at this gravity. Excellent. mreusch (713), Olathe, Kansas, USA Jul 21, 2008 12oz. handbottle, with thanks to BBB63. Pours a clear light orange with a big foamy tan head, good retention and lacing. Aroma is fruity, light spice, yeast, and candied fruit. Flavor is more candied fruit sweetness, with light yeast and spice. A bit sweet and one dimensional for my tastes, but certainly drinkable. Thanks for the chance to try Mike! SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Mar 17, 2008 Copper/orange/rust in color this poured a thin head . Aromas were of bananas, rock candy, yeast and spice. The palate was smooth, rich and oily with similar flavors. There was solid palate weight but I wish the flavors packed more of a concentrated punch. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 3, 2008 Semi-hazed with a gradient chestnut hue and a few bubbles at the edges. Aroma revels in caramel apples crested with nuts. Fried bananas with gummy brown sugar and emulsified caramel bubble gum break the nose. Sweet dulche de leche and tres leches cakes bridge the nose to the mouth. Flavor imbeds the brown sugar banana bread with gooey sweet and eggy crème brule custard. A hint of earthen chestnuts rolled with a nutmeg and caramel milk component become increasingly prominent. Soft ginger apple traits siege the medium-to-fuller bodied balance as baked brown sugar bananas take us home. Thanks for sharing, Mike! 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jan 6, 2008 Thanks Mike. The beer pours to a rusty amber body with a thin white head. The aroma is yeasty bananas foster. Very unique but more of a tripel in my opinion. The flavor is yeasty bananas, medium light candi sugar. Doesn’t have that intense dark candi sugar like in a quad. This, to me, is a triple (and apparently the brewer think the same).
