Sampled at GTMW 2009. Dark orange in color more similar to an IPA than a Tripel. Has a very thin white head. Lightly tart aroma. Lemony and peppery taste which sounds weird but was really quite good. Alcohol was not detectable especially at this gravity. Excellent.

On tap at the brewery and served in a smaller 10 ounce glass: A slightly hazy amber hue with a minimal head but some oily film. The big nose shows a fruity (apricot and pear), grassy and herbal, slight sugary and doughy, honey and interestingly wintergreen esters.

WOW big fruity and malty overtones greet the taster supported by some honey and bready midsection. While sweet the beer never comes off cloy due in part to the light bitterness upon the finish and the alcohol found within. Moderate levels of spicy goodness is found throughout the tasting as well. The mouth feel is very smooth and oily with soft carbonation.

This is rocking even if not to any one style. I viewed this like a quad and yet another winner by Steve. Congratulation of 2 years of outstanding brewing! Hope for many more!!

Draft at The Livery. Poured cloudy orange color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast and tart fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy yeasty sweet & sour flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a standout beer. Poured clear yellow-golden color with an average fizzy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex citrus, bubblegum and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite as it warmed. This is a refreshing good beer.

a huge thanks to BBB63 for sending me this beer. It pours an opaque dark brown with no head. the aroma is of candy sugar, fruity and a few other things. tasty and smooth, the 11% ABV is well-hidden. The flavor has some sweet fruits and doughiness. but it is very drinkable

Hand-bottled bomber from Mike, shared with a few other peeps. Very nice, spicy aroma, fine bread notes and florals. Close to style while still being light. Flavor is a bit murkier, a touch of wheat and german yeast spiciness. Though the flavor doesn’t hit it as well, this is as close to a real quad as I’ve had an American beer be (despite their calling it a tripel :O ).

On tap at the brewery. This reddish amber ale poured with a thin off-white head and a fruity aroma. The flavor is all about yeast and oak. It is pleasantly sour and a bit smoky, with a warming alcohol trail. Very enjoyable.

cloudy off copper color w/ a tiny whisp of white head, mine is mostly a yeast shot. Very nice fruity sweet aroma a good amount of bananas like bananas w/ sugar or candied banana maybe a touch of spice probably clove. Palate is pretty avg. Flavor is delicious alcohol is extremely well hidden for an 11% covered by a candied banana hints of honey, quite nice.

Semi-hazed with a gradient chestnut hue and a few bubbles at the edges. Aroma revels in caramel apples crested with nuts. Fried bananas with gummy brown sugar and emulsified caramel bubble gum break the nose. Sweet dulche de leche and tres leches cakes bridge the nose to the mouth. Flavor imbeds the brown sugar banana bread with gooey sweet and eggy crème brule custard. A hint of earthen chestnuts rolled with a nutmeg and caramel milk component become increasingly prominent. Soft ginger apple traits siege the medium-to-fuller bodied balance as baked brown sugar bananas take us home. Thanks for sharing, Mike!
