| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Hand-bottle from a growler courtesy of BBB63: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a thin ring of off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty caramel malt and some mild fruity tartness and oak with some fresh piny English hops and a hint of soapiness. Body starts fairly full with a lot of oaky barrel flavor and semi-sweet earthy caramel malt with a drier piny citrusy finish. A pretty interesting brew that should age well. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Courtesy BBB63. Cloudy light amber color with a thin white soapy head. Moderate bourbon aroma with settled down as it breathed a bit. Dried apricot and oak on aroma also. Taste is a bit hot, there’s some notes of Belgian yeast way back there, some spice. Smells better than it tastes. Ibrew2or3 (2848), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Big thanks to BBB63 for bringing this beer down to Degarth’s the Tampa tasting. Pours copper-ish orange with thin white head. The aroma has barrel wood notes, it seems a bit chalky, has fruity esters and some caramel. The taste is up front barrel aged wood and booze with a backbone of mild dark fruity ester and caramel malt roastiness. Then the booze fortified notes build again and provide a drying sense. Ends with fruity esters, mild maltiness and more booze. hopscotch (5555), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottle… March 08 Tampa Bay Tasting… This beer rocks!… Cloudy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is terrific and fruity as hell; chock full of mysterious tropical and fuzzy fruits alongside perfumy goodness. Full-bodied with a skim milk mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Fruity, tangy flavors of golden raisins, mango, apricot and papaya. Good bitterness. Extremely drinkable. At no point does the high ABV rear its head. Finishes tangy, fruity and sweet. BBB63 came through with this one! Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA

Caramel brown body with a small head, no retention and not much lacing....some swirly foam is all that’s left after a minute or so....nose is fairly hot, along with tropical fruits, dark esters, caramel malts and some floral hops....flavor seems a bit off and disjointed, all of the components aren’t meshing well....mouthfeel is light for the style as well, could use a bit more heft....medium length finish, fruits, some perfume/floral notes and dough....something somewhere just didn’t mesh with me on this beer, my least favorite of all the great offerings Mike brought us from this top notch brewery.... mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Courtesy BBB63. Pours a clear amber copper color, with a small white head. Smells of a touch of bourbon, light caramel, fruits, and sweet malt. The flavor is more on the mild side, but nicely balanced for a barrel aged brew. The bourbon is soft, with the fruits and malts showing up more in the front and softening out in the finish. Very light to be called a quad in my opinion. Finished kind of tart. Decent, but not eye opening.
