bu11zeye (3656), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 10, 2007 (Hand bottle from BBB63) Pours a mahogany body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, and caramel. Flavor of bourbon, vanilla, maple syrup, figs, brown sugar, and caramel malt. Bourbon and oak character took away from the Belgian characteristics, but still a solid beer. Lumpy (1530), Carrollton, Texas, USA Oct 9, 2007 Bottle. Nose-Maker’s Mark Bourbon, buttery, woody, caramel popcorn. Body-very dark flat cola. Taste-watered down bourbon, flat Pepsi-Cola, cheap spiced rum, alcohol, really boils down to this: cheap rum, sweet, almost mapely, wheaty, sweet, husky, light Belgian notes. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 04/28/2007

From a growler.
Pours a murky dark brown with virtually no head.
Big bourbon nose.
The flavor is a complex blend of the bourbon, (which is pretty well dominanat), spice, caramel, and dark dried fruits.
Hides the alcohol very well. pantanap (749), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 17, 2007 Updated: Jan 30, 2008draft at brewpub....i’m pretty sure that this is the correct entry....aroma: heavy on the bourbon and very little of anything else. sugary sweet and little hints of spice.....appearance: this was a dark trippel-style beer and darker than most other trippels i have seen or tried. a very dark, bold brown and very thin head that dissipated quickly.....taste: sweet malt, molasses, dark fruit, and alas a strong essence of bourbon....i don’t believe the version I had was 14.5% though.
