On tap at the Livery and served in a snifter. Cloudy dark orange/amber pour with a thin, short-lived head of light beige foam. Lots of lace. The aroma included a ton of fresh citrus, caramel, oak, and also some afterthoughts of sour fruit. The flavor had a solid malty caramel backbone followed by bitter grapefruit, oranges, dark fruit skins, dry oak, and a hint of white wine. Starts fairly sweet but has a nice, dry finish...especially for a high gravity beer. Full-bodied, but highly drinkable. Light carbonation. Very nice. Almost no trace of the 10.5% ABV. Really nice.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Fiery orange-brown body, thin, clumping off-white head. Bright citrus nose with tannic, leafy hops, pine cones, and sweet berries. Fascinating blend of sour lemon, pineapple, and vinaigrette flavors with oak, and bitter, leafy hops. Excellent beer.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of sour fruit, oak, pine, and light citrus. Flavor of oak, light sourness, roasted malt, vinous, and hops (grapefruit, light pine).

Fobab VI. Nose is nice and funky, ton of hops peaking through the bourbon. This is a well layered beer and definitely made me want to visit the Livery. There body is cloudy, like most barrel beers and minimal head. Taste is roasty and caramely malt, nice spice from the hops. Overally, one of the best of the fest.

On tap at the brewery. This orange ale poured with a rich beige head and tangy oak aroma. This is a blend of Curvana and Jax Double IPA. It tastes mostly like a DIPA with some sour oak notes. There is a very nice malt flavor with a little alcohol.

Sampled at GTMW 2009 (Madison, WI). Pours a decent hazed amber, decent offwhite head that laces well and stays at a thick film. Aromas are belgian yeast covered up by some good fruit and good floral hopping. Initial is florals, mellow belgian yeast giving way to dominant fruit and liberal American hops. Very fruity: apple, pear, citrus fruits. Tartness comes onto the palate lighter but seems covered up by a good dose of hopping. A bit strong overall with a fruity lightly bitter finish.
