Hand bottle courtesy of BBB63 via tjthresh; enjoyed at csbosox’s tasting, on 3/7/08. Pours a muddy brown with a quickly diminishing head. The nose is a very nice blend of pine and citrus. Light to medium-bodied with a dry, bitter finish. Piny and citric hops with caramel malt in support. Its pretty hoppy, but it has a nice solid malt backing. This is a nice beer. Thanks for sending this one for us, Mike!

22 ounce hand bottle from Mike. Brown with red hues. Great bubble gum, fruity hop aroma. Mostly hop flavor with some rye spice and bitterness. Hoppy dryness. Tasty beer.

22 oz hand bottle shared by tjthresh, courtesy of BBB63 - enjoyed at the csbosox tasting on 3/7/08. Pour is Ruby - caramel brown, no head really, what exists is just a few soapy bubbles around the edge. Aroma of grain, rye and some pine hoppiness. Floral notes, sweetness - really a great nose. Taste is big on the grainy rye, very bitter from middle to finish. The nose and taste both fade pretty fast, but this was a nice one. Huge thanks to both Mike and Tom!

Thanks to Mike for the hand-bottled bomber! Poured clear coppery-amber with just a little beige head sticking around. The aroma was sweet and very hoppy, with pine and earthy notes over grapefruit meat and toasty caramel.. the back of the nose had a really green feel.. quite nice! The flavor was led by the hops, showcasing earthy and leafy notes.. sweet citrus backed it, and the bitterness lasted quite some time on the resiny finish. Bitter on the palate with low carbonation.. strong, but refreshing feel on the finish. Barrel-aged version coming?? I’m intrigued.

MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy light brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body. Medium to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met.

2008 MBG Winter Beer Fest. I enjoyed the last couple of ounces from the mini-keg. This was a very leafy, herbal beer with toasty malts backing the heavy hops profile. Tannic . Much like fall leaves.

Wow. Nice dark deep pour that is instant caramel and citrus at the same time. Lots of hops all the way around the taste. Very nice.
