Lightly woody aroma over mild cherries. Flavour of mildly sour cherries with a backdrop of wood from the barrel. Average palate. I’m not big on cherry flavours so I am slightly biased against it to start with. Needs a bit more body and flavour oomph to complement the barrel influence. This shows much more balanced wood than does their scotch ale sampled previously. Not bad – add a few points if you like cherry. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA

Nice sweet and sour aroma, not quite mouth puckering, faint woodiness in the background. Flavor has a nice sour cherry kick to it, with tons of woody tannin like flavors. Very sneaky smooth on the palate. Highly sessionable. CaptainCougar (5526), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Sweet cherry candy aroma has a touch of oaky tartness. Body starts with a sweet maraschino cherry flavor nicely balanced with some earthy malts and fruity tartness. The cask gives a pleasant complexity throughout, a nice Flemish sour. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Thanks whomever brought this (BBB63?). There was a nice sized head with some reasonably clean lacing over the deep maple brown body. I picked up hints of cherries, wheats, malt and oak chips; overall it was slightly sour. When I sipped my sample there was a combination of creamy vanilla, wheat, sour cherries, oak barrels and caramel. The finish was sweet, smooth but a little syruppy. Excellent and enjoyable overall. I’ll have to try the regular Belgian Cherry Wheat to see what the cask aging did for it. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA

The beer pours a nice mahogany body with an off-white head. The aroma is sour cherries, nice caramel malt with interesting specialty malts. The flavor is sour cherries, sweet caramelly malts, not overly sour. Cherry pie... The palate is medium-bodied, lightly tart, smooth. tjthresh (1779), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Straight forward aroma, oak, tart cherry, vanilla, wood. Nicely blended, yet easily distinguished. No head. Quite hazy. Oranges, reds, and PURPLES! Sweet upfront. Cherry tart across the tongue, with a long oaky tanic burn. A touch on the thin side. Well balanced, and a real treat. Thanks for sharing, Mike.
