Growler... DLD06... Clear, deep amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Notes of pine, caramel an dried apricot constitute the nose. The flavor is a marriage of rich, buttery caramel and freshly cut grapefruit. Full-bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Finishes lightly sweet, medium bitter and then dry.

Sampled from a growler at the Milwaukee YEHa!05 courtesy of BBB63: Pours a dark amber orange with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Gritty, sweet caramel sugar and nicely-balanced fresh citrus and piney hops dominate the aroma. Dry, lightly earthy and toasted bittersweet flavor. Finishes dry and sticky with some lingering pine and grapefruit. Could really use some more malt and bittering hops to be more true to style, but still a decent brew.

BBB63 certainly has not holds barred at the Tosa Yeha. He brought enough growlers and bottles for the whole group! Lightly hazed dark amber color with a moderate but stable off white head. Hugh fresh hops aromas, with grapefruit and fresh cut flowers. Mild malt and light fruit in the backdrop. Seems somewhat thin for all the malt and flavors present. Mild caramel and a rather sharp hops bite in the finish. Another in a full line of IIPAs that I enjoyed smelling, but was slightly let down in the flavor.

Draft at brewpub. Poured hazy dark amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy sour citrus and small malty aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid drinkable beer.

Rerate: From the Tosa growler: The flavors seemed even better balanced than before and the mouthfeel is a bit heavier than the first time. Outstanding!

On tap at brewery and served in a snifter:

Murky reddish ornage hue with a small head and nice lacing. The aroma is sugary and hoppy with piney and earthy esters. The taste starts with a snappy hop bite followed by a fruity overtone and a hint of salty quality leading to a dry astrengent finish. There is a enough malt background for proper balance and a sappy nature that is interesting. The feel is lightly sticky and warming, the alcohol is still hidden well within the framework of the brew. This has a lot going for it and shows good promise for the future. Get ya some!

Poured a hazy copper color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of tangerine, grapefruit, pine, citrus fruits, and some light orange peel. Taste of grassy hops, pine, resin, caramel malts, with a grapefruit finish.
