On tap at the brewpub. Very turbid yellow and orange with a big white head. Some lace. Very nice peppery and banana notes in the aroma and flavor. Refreshing tartness. Really good stuff.

On tap at brewery:

Slightly hazy golden hue with a small head and minimal lace. The nose has a big banana ester with a peppery, wheaty, bready note as well. The taste follows suit with a fleshy fruit tone, light malt and grains, some wheat, and flowery. The spice only showed at the end. The flavor could use a bit of citric nature for depth. It is not often I say this, but this weizen could use a bit more carbonation, seems to sit on the tongue too long but it is smooth and displays enough body for the style. I like the banana qualities of this brew, quaffable.

Anniversary Trip 2007

5/17/2007: Murky/very cloudy butternut color (wife says it is "orange blossom") with a thin, frothy crown. Light, spotty lacing. Sour, acidic wheat malt in the aroma. The flavor is like that of a true hefe: banana and clove. There is also a bit of a citrus twist to it as well. Medium body. Very easy to drink.

Draught sample (5.0% ABV) at The Livery in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Draft at brewery. Hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate sour citrus, banana and clove aroma. Light to medium body with a sticky texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration. Refreshing soft summer breer.

Hazy golden pour and fizzy white head. The nose is grassy, and touches of banana esters. To that is added hints of cloves and fruity hefe yeast notes. Average.
