BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Mar 4, 2008 (My #50 rated Livery beer!) Handpull pint glass at brewery: Pours a hazy unfiltered coppery hue with a small head and some lace. The aroma has notes of classic aromatic hops and a bit of resiny hops too. A hint of apple and grapefruit, biscuity malt, and earthy esters. The taste is extremely well balanced between a sharp bitterness and sweet bread malts with a light fruity background. Some hint of hop spice and yeasty notes upon the finish. The mouth feel is very refreshing and crisp with good body for the style. I really liked this batch and handpull made it even better. I finished two pint in no time, maybe the best IPA Steve has ever brewed and that is saying alot. JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Mar 30, 2008 Cask at Manhattan Cask Festival. Clear amber beer with a bit of lacing. Aroma is great, nice orange peel and marmalade character, crisp Maris Otter biscuity aroma and a touch of warm earthy/woody hoppiness. Flavour is just right... UK-style IPA that the cask is perfectly suited for. Light earthy malt sweetness, soft UK Fuggle/golding character. Very nice cask. heemer77 (3752), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 6, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was meidum amber. The aroma was oranges with some peanuts. The taste was bitter tea with some toffee. A smooth body. Tmoney99 (3618), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 12, 2008 Draft at The Livery. Poured a cloudy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate yeasty sour hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a drinkable brew. kmweaver (2118), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Sep 19, 2008 Handpull @ the Livery. Pours a hazy, golden-orange color; minimal head formation. Solid of amounts of very soft, floral and citrus hop presence in the aroma; very resiny and soft, like dripping hop plants. Slight carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: chewy earthy and floral hop character upfront; again, very resiny and soft, but a touch under-concentrated and on the sweet side overall; I’d prefer to have tried this on CO2 instead; the light bubbles doesn’t add much here. Medium finish: earthy and citrus hops, very resiny, basic malt; definitely a soft English bitter character throughout.
