Cornfield (4469), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 4, 2008 Interesting. A brew called a "German Pils" is listed as a generic Pilsener. Oh, well. I got a hefty pour from an anonymous donor on DLD. It poured a hazy yellow body with a lasting fizzy head. The aroma had both bready and grainy malt with a light grassy/herbal hoppiness. True to style, that hoppy bitterness was sharp and plentiful in the flavor, nicely balancing the well rounded malt sweetness. This is a class act brewery.

Dark Lord Day 2008 at Three Floyds, Munster, IN, 4/26/2008.
heemer77 (3955), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 6, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body is cloudy medium cold. The aroma is biscuits with some carrots and Saaz. The taste is bready with some nice Saaz in the finish. A solid pils. BBB63 (3865), La Porte, Indiana, USA Sep 5, 2007 (Poor Freddy’s Pils) Growler and served in ye olde pint glass: Hazed golden hue with a fizzy but mostly lasting head and left some lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of herbal and grassy hops, biscuity and doughy malts, and a hint of tangerine ester. The taste is spot on for the style with a crisp noble hop bitterness, subdued acidity and a muted layer of malt. The finish has just a touch of hop spice and a minor lingering of the acidic fruit tone. The mouth feel is what you expect, soft and watery. A good example of the genre served fresh. A nice session brew indeed. Tmoney99 (3821), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 27, 2008 Draft sample at brewpub. Poured clear copper color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Good citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body. Good well balanced hoppy flavor with a moderate smooth balanced bitter finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable beer. kmweaver (2274), Nicaragua Apr 28, 2008 Draft @ The Livery. Pours a hazy, golden yellow color; bright white head with web-like lacing. Pleasant amount of juicy, resiny mineral and citrus hops in the aroma; dry, crisp. Medium mouthfeel: soft toasty grains, mineral bitterness and citrus; dry, crisp fee; intensely drinkable. Dry, crisp finish: minerals and toasty grains.
