Pours a nice golden color with a large white head. Aroma is extremely strong and pronounced, turkish delight, licorice, candy, very sweet. Taste is complex, clearly noticeable alcohol burn, sweet yet also quite bitter and dry in the aftertaste. Licorice, honey, citrus, malt. Nice unusual triple with heavy bitterness.

Bottle - 330ml. Hazy golden body with low carbonation and a thin off-white foamy head. Complex malty/hoppy aroma that carries fruity, yeasty and herbal notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Taste is very well balanced and ends with a long, warming bittersweet finish. Very enjoyable!

In short: An extra-sweet sugary strong Belgian blonde ale without any complexity. Mega-boring.
How: Bottle 330ml, almost 1 year old, about 1 year before best-before date
The look: Cloudy dark blonde with lots of small particles topped by a very small ring of white foam
In long: Nose of generic standard Belgian yeast and candy sugar. Taste is sweet, too sweet. Candy sugar all over the place. Bready/doughy Belgian yeast does provide substance but does not provide much flavour. There is not much I can say about this beer, it is very sugary and that kills any subtle flavour it may have had. If I try real hard I can pick up some citrus fruits, some coriander, and maybe some other stuff. But that would just would just be mental masturbation. And that reminds me I have something to do. Bye.

(Rating #2066)
