Bottle. Smells nice, of caramel, nuts, and malts, but tastes clash strangely: syrupy sweet at first but fizzy and alcoholic at the end.

Pours burny sienna with small off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel malt, cabernet, almonds. Tastes malty, with some chocoff, fruit, and a slight rauchy, maple syrupy finish.

Compact and resistant foam. Dark red color, shining and medium intense. Enough determined scent, agreeable and bitter. Sweet caramel aroma. Not too much solid and drinkable with a not excessive alcoholic tenor. Bitterish end with notes of tobacco and raisin.

Dark brown colour, with tones of red. Caramel is obvious in the taste. Finish is slightly bitter, but far more malty. A bit dusty and artificial.

It’s been a while, but this was an outstanding beer when I tried a six pack of it. The only place I’ve been able to find it was at an AAFES exchange at McDill AFB. Tastes in beer styles differ from person to person, so if a Czech/Vienna style amber lager suites you, make sure you grab this beer if you ever see it. Heavy malt flavor yet medium bodied. Nice balance with hops the way only only Germanic people seem to know how to do. Beautiful copper color and creamy head, what a memory of a fine beer.

12 oz bottle. Still dark, almost opaque maple syrup, touch of bubble action with a small off-white lasting head and hint of lace...big malty-caramel nose with notes of raisin and nice dark roastiness...body filled with burnt grain, sweet dark caramel, touches of maple and tobacco.
