(Dutch ratebeermeeting) Aroma of roasted chocolate malts and banana. Clear, dark brown coloured with a thin off-white head. Taste is again roasted malts, bitter, chocolate. Creamy aftertaste.

Very dark, small frothy head, faint toffee aroma. Dusty sweet toffee flavour, a bit short and a medium body although it’s a bit on the light side. By the end I found it overly sweet.

Appearance: clear brown color, with a decent tannish layer of film for a head. Aroma: caramelly sweet, light, and very mellow. Taste: rather thick on the tongue at first, then nothing but lightness. Light bodied on the palate, too, but not lacking in flavor in the least. Nutty, caramelly sweetness continues and abounds. Tasty, a trifle fruity, and yummy, to a point. If you want a mild, but flavorful dark lager, by all means go for the Baron!

30 Aug 2004 - Sweet choc fruit spicy hop aroma, I am impressed by the aroma. Clear dark brown-red colour, good head and suds lacing. A bit sugary, fruit hop and choc malt. Could be thicker, thin to medium mouthfeel. I guess I expected more of a finish for a dark beer.

Red amber hue with a large head. Barley and malt smells jump out from this brew which has a bavarian malt-barley flavor as well with the possible addition of oats. A smooth metallic overtone is well integrated. A nice dark lager.

Pours a dark brown color. Aroma is a little sweet a little caramel and chocolate. Good smooth flavor, not too strong of a taste. Roasted malt flavor with a touch of chocolate.

Bottled in Stella, Praha 5. Dark brown colour and medium white/beige head. Caramelly and slightly roasty aroma. Nutty, malty and chololatey flavour. It was one of my first Czech dark lagers and I still love it.
