| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2006 Mahogany brown, tall beige head, moderate lace. Sweet caramel aroma, with a little spice. Caramel malt flavour predominates, a little chocolate, and a fruity ester makes its way into the palate every now and then. Smooth, medium bodied for a lighter alcohol style, and with good balance. Very nice. piscator34 (1131), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 13, 2006 Bottled sample. Brownish red in colour with medium carbonation. Almost no head retention at all, even though it was served in a hefeweizen glass. Aromas of caramel, light milk chocolate, and dark roasted grains. A bit more chocolate flavor too, but the roasted grain / toast elements really start to take over. The body is a bit too light for the flavors that are going on. Average. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2006 500 ml bottle. Dark ruddy brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy and rocky off-white head. Chocolate, orange, caramel, and lightly acidic aroma. Caramel, chocolate, lightly toasty flavours with a dark chocolate, earthy, and lightly roasty bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, prickly but smooth. Nice. HazelRah (276), Summerland, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Deep, dark brown. Foamed over as I popped the cap off. An odd meat aroma was present. Flavour was a more recognizable raisin, nutmeg, cinnamon and dark malt medley. BeerMountie (106), Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada

Dark brown colour with a nice tan head. Head reduced to a thin layer after a couple minutes but stayed for the rest of the beer. Malt and nuts in the aroma of this one. The flavour was sweet with some hops in the finish. Good mouth feel. Unfortuniately this is another beer that I will have to go on a long road trip to enjoy again.
