Cask handpump at The Green Dragon, Cambridge. Clear amber with a lovely orange citrus scent and some honey. Moderately bitter but a slightly sweet end. Honey but not much else. Disappointing.

Casl@WetherspoonsWebley. Plastic aroma with hint of malts. Amber colour, beige head, few lace. Metallic, plastic, light sourish, some caramel malts, light herbal finish. Unbalanced, unclean and amateurish.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber with a dense cream head. Aromas are malty with chocolate, weetabix and cream. Quite spicy. Flavours are toffee and weetabix malts with grapefruit, lemon and some pear. Decent.

Draught. Hazy brown with some persistent soapy head. Slightly hoppy, maybe funky aroma. Light body and carbonation. Flavour not distinctive, slight bitterness in finish. Ok as a session beer, but not special.

Cask - West Gate Inn (JDW), Canterbury. Dark copper colour with a small, loose white head. Caramel, buttery aromas, some dry hoppiness. Sweet flavours initially, give way to a grassy, herbal sort of bitterness. Quite dry and lingering sort of flavours. Medium body, soft, oily mouthfeel, low carbonation.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Copper coloured with a creamy off white head. Juicy fruit aroma with some biscuity malt and a faint buttery hint. Thankfully I’m not getting any diacetyl in the flavour. Sadly I’m not getting much to shout about either. A rather dull best bitter with plenty of fruity malt and a slight lick of citrus but very little bitterness. Too much straw and metal in the finish. Boring.

Cask, Kings Head, Carlisle. Light red ale, which had a more than a hint of apple in the aroma, which, whilst not unpleasant, didn’t do much to enhance the drinking experience. Quite a soft palate and lacking a great deal of substance.

Good Intent, Rochester. Pleasant, refreshing ale - slightly woody. Nothing special but attractive drinking.
