Commercial Description:
Contract-brewed for Pabst Brewing (San Antonio). "The Silver Star" is as you might guess the light version of regular Lone Star.

Actually followed up a Lone Star with this (Hey, when in Rome..). While the aroma was actually a little skunkier than the Original, the mouthfeel/finish was a little better, so the two of these evened out. That being said, been there, tried these..done.

I had this in some dive bar in San Antonio last week. They took the regular Lone Star (which has almost no flavor) and added a gallon of water. This is tasteless, and at only 3.8% it isn’t even suitable as an alcohol delivery system.

Notes: 12 fl oz bottle. A great beer to have with heavy foods. Goes down smooth with a similar taste to LoneStar but with a less bodied taste. A: Yellow & Gold with a light head. S: Smells of strong cereal and other grain. T: A hint of malt, cereal, and grian that is not to overpowered and not to subtle; Very low bitter taste. Cereal taste stands out. D: Excellent drinkability. Very smooth. Not to bitter.

To call this one the official beer of Texas is a bit of a stretch. There are better Texas samples out there.

12 OZ CAN FROM kAGGIE. tHANKS! Pours a clear pale yellow with a head that quickly turns to nothingness. Aroma is grainy and fusely. Taste is corn and grains amongst the water. Pretty bad. Gimme a Bud!

Out of the can at a crawfish boil. Pours very pale yellow. Smell is very faint, but of light malt and not very clean. Not quite skunky, but a touch stale-ish perhaps. Watery, thin flavor. Pretty bland, but lightly bitter, and drinkable when ice cold. blah.
