beerbill (1320), Laurel, New York, USA Jul 12, 2008 750 ml bottle. Pours a clear watermelon color with no head. This is a still mead. Some mild raspberry in the aroma, but it seems a bit too sweet to be real raspberries. Some honey and a few vapors of alcohol noted as well. The raspberries are more of a presence in the flavor, but again more on the sweet side and lacking any of the tartness I associate with raspberries. Moderately sweet honey also in the flavor. Not the best mead I have had, but not the worst either.
PilsnerPeter (1477), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 17, 2007 Bottle: Pour like a cheap blush wine, but with an orange hue. Aroma is completely Robutussin/ cough medicine and some rubbery band aid. Harshly sweet flavor, very unappealing, nearly offensive. This Meadery’s lineup seems to have medicinal and rubber band flavored stuff (from what I’ve tasted so far). Enormously sweet, a drain pour.
