Commercial Description:
This full bodied amber ale is modeled after the "altbiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor.

Draft at the Old Bay. Clear amber ale, no head, not much aroma or flavor. Altogether unremarkable and forgettable.

Aroma is earthy and hoppy. Looks dark amber with a little white head. Mostly hop dominated flavor which seems odd for what they were intending this beer to be. Finishes crisp and cleanly. Good session beer, and I think it’s good enough to not get annoying. But also not too much of a standout.

12 oz bottle...bottled 5/12/05 Pretty decent. An altbier? I would never have guessed. Solid malt flavor with some hop bitterness bringing up the rear.

Pours a nice amber color with offwhite head. Malty and somewhat hoppy. Too watery. Bitter finish. Solid brew but nothing to write home about

Bottle. Clear brownish orange, thick tan head and nice head retention. Peppery fruity aroma. Malty fruity flavors. Moderate bitterness. Medium body. Hoppy finish. Decent drinking brew. Bottled on 5/10/05.

Pours a med. amber with a lite white head. Nose of mild caramel with a firm maltiness. Flavors are slightly earthy and grassy, but with a caramelly sweetness. Body is a little lite for the style and the finish is not dry enough. Otherwise, this is a really smooth beer that is a hell of a lot better than most of the ambers made in America.

Not as good as DoubleBag. Poured a copper/orange color with little head. Weak aroma. Crisp malty flavor. Nice hopped background. Not much to this beer. Decent

05.25.05 12oz bottle. Glistening, coppery brown with thick and fluffy off-white head. Mild aromas of cooked, husky grains, crusty, a touch salty. Flavor is very mild and a bit bland with tons of bitterness, tingly fizz. Reminds of salted stale pretzels, but abrupt and bitter. Really need some body, less eff.
