Jun 7, 2005 Pours a med. amber with a lite white head. Nose of mild caramel with a firm maltiness. Flavors are slightly earthy and grassy, but with a caramelly sweetness. Body is a little lite for the style and the finish is not dry enough. Otherwise, this is a really smooth beer that is a hell of a lot better than most of the ambers made in America.

May 25, 2005 05.25.05 12oz bottle. Glistening, coppery brown with thick and fluffy off-white head. Mild aromas of cooked, husky grains, crusty, a touch salty. Flavor is very mild and a bit bland with tons of bitterness, tingly fizz. Reminds of salted stale pretzels, but abrupt and bitter. Really need some body, less eff.

May 9, 2005 Pours bright copper an still with a creamy ivory head. not much lace to speak of. Smells quite hoppy with hints of spice and faint sour apple.
Taste is bitter. Bitter throughout for various reasons. Spicy malt flavors in there somewhere. Not sure of how to describe this but it tastes "grainy", like unmalted barley. Hoppy finish and aftertaste. This beer is crisp and easy to drink. Would make a nice session brew during a ski vacation. Solid.

Apr 29, 2005 On tap in Maynard, MA. Poured a nice bubbly amber, decent head for a bar pour. God forbid you get a head on your beer in a bar. Anyway, thought this was a very refreshing beer - some citrus flavor to it and very palatable.

Apr 6, 2005 Copper color out of the bottle with a generous foamy off white head. Not much of a nose, but what there was had a thin, grainy quality to it. The initial taste was some fruity sweetness followed by an unidentified bitterness in the finish. This bottle seemed to have an off acidity to it. Not a great beer.
