| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2009 From a 22 fl. oz. bottle marked 121608-84857. The pour is an amber-copper with a short-lived off-white foamy head, decent carbonation, and light lacing. The aroma is of roasted malts with a near overriped fruity sensation. But it is not unappealing. Medium mouth feel. The flavor starts sweet and malty, becomes a tad bitter, and ends with crispy hops. Not quite as hoppy as the style suggests but still a good experrience. Appearance is brown with a small and short-lived head. Nose is a wonderful example of a German-style Dusseldorf Alt; one of rich munich malt and perhaps a little caramel malt. Originally, I felt the beer lacked depth, but upon a re-tasting, I have changed my mind. Nice complexity, nice combination of malt. For the price, a well-crafted example of the style. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Very underrated beer. Pours golden orange with a nice off white head. Aroma is a little musty with a nice hop/malt balance. Flavor is also a very nice balance of hops and malts. Refreshing, drinkable with a clean, fast bitter finish. I am a big fan. (previous tastings from memory) I often pick these up to keep on hand. This is a good ale. Nothing spactacular but very drinkable and one of the lower priced options in my area. altonbrownd (1930), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Bottle that I finally opened from my trip to Vermont last year. Amber pour with a a white head. Aroma is all malt and notmuch else. Mostly caramel . Flavor has a touch more hops than you might expect from the nose and a good amount of caramel malt as well. Ok beer.
