Commercial Description:
This full bodied amber ale is modeled after the "altbiers" of Dusseldorf, Germany. Our top fermenting yeast and cold finishing temperature result in a complex, yet clean, full flavor.

This beer has a smooth and gentile taste. It pours a nice head with a good texture on the palate. I personally enjoy the after taste since it has a decent bite.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body has good clarity and a nice medium amber color. Its head was off white in color, of average size and quickly settles down and fades to thin ring of lace. Smell: The aroma has hints of leafy, mineral like and grassy hops with some lightly toasted grain. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor is well balanced and delicate. Hop flavor is leafy and grassy with mild bitterness. It is in very good balance with the light bready malt. The light bitterness fades quickly and cleanly off the tongue, setting you up for the next sip. It has a light to medium body, smooth texture and average carbonation. Notes: Overall it’s an all around good beer with wonderful drinkability.

Draught in Bar Harbor. Altbier? Would not have guessed at that classification. Definitely borderd on amber territory. It was easy drinking and enjoyable no matter what you want to call it.

Bottle. Pour is a reddish copper with tons of carbonation and a large but quickly fading head. Aromas are mostly caramel malt with a little bit of light fruit. Flavor is not really watery, but not really full, either. Malty sweetness is pleasant, but that’s about all I’m picking up. Nice, but simple.

Very nice clean yeasty aroma turns slightly fruity and perfumy in the glass. Slightly darker than the ubiquitous pale lager but just as clear. Meollow flavor that wants to come on strong but does not. Godd tingly carbonation and its welcomed. After the session continues, there is a medium light building hops falvor. Nice enjoyable hint of fruit in there too. Has some hop presence without being offensive nor over the top. Very enjoyable beer, glad I got to try this. Finish is nice and friendly, hides alky well. Surprizingly pleasing.
