Reid (1013), Salem, Oregon, USA Nov 14, 2003 comes in a 12 oz long neck..nice ,simple water colour on tha label
the beer pours a nice light brown almost amber in colour..its also crystal clear..there was a small white head that went down fast to a good lace.
I can smell the malts very well..plus a frsh pine sort of aroma ( not nasty, intrigueing).
Ah nice tasting Alt we have here , starts sweet, then gives way to a velvety creamyness ( like unsalted butter)..then the hops appear..again the piney flavour appears as an aftertaste.
I like the feel on the palate the contrast between the sweetness , then the creamyness..then the bitter after taste.
Very drinkable Alt beer..Im beginning to like this rare style..maybe I should make a trip to Dusseldorf one of these days.
thornecb (1290), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jan 7, 2009 Pours orange-amber into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Caramel malt aromas. Sweet caramel upfront, crisp and dry in the finish. boFNjackson (645), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 28, 2008 Bottle... Poured clear amber with a white head that faded quickly. Had a faint, leafy malt aroma. Foamy texture with berry flavors, caramel-sweet malt and a little of a bitterness in the finish. badwhale (39), Bitterville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 24, 2008 I had this on tap in Bar Harbor, ME
It left a lasting impression on me, hence the good rating.
Nice yellow / amber color. good head. basic brew that I could drink all night.
Rciesla (1580), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Dec 24, 2008 Bottle pours a golden body with a white head. Butterscotch toffee feel but then a bunch of toasted malt and a simple German pils/lager simple mouthfeel. eh. FROTHINGSLOSH (1612), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright ruby-caramel color with a large orange-tan head. The aroma was sour, tangy and malty but not particularly noteworthy. The flavor was sour, bitter and tangy with a light fruity undertone and a hint of caramel. The finish was rather short. Basic.
