Commercial Description:
Our Belgian White Ale is modeled after the original Belgian Witbiers brewed in monasteries during the early 14th century. The soft notes of citrus and spice are topped with a light fluffy head that finishes clean and crisp. This all natural ale is our latest seasonal brew, perfect for lounging at lake-side or celebrating at trails end...

Bottle. Spicy aroma, with grass and citrus. Very pale hazy yellow body, fizzy white head. Flavor is mild, wheat, spices, bread, interesting and refreshing.

Nice hazy golden blonde coloured body with a perfectly sized, albeit fast-dying white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, yeast and a super-strong amount of coriander seed. Medium-bodied; Spicy taste up front with wheat, malt, yeast, oranges (curacao) and a little nutmeg thrown in. Aftertaste shows more spice, a touch of anise and a little watery ending. Overall, a pretty nice wit, not amazing, but good from the Northeast. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage on 22-December-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 14-January-2009.

Damn solid belgian white. Too bad Im drinking this in the winter though, would be a great summer afternoon beer. Lots of bite and tons of citrus zest.

Bottle. Pours an almost opaque honey color, as there is just that much haze and cloudiness to the beer. Looks almost like grapefruit juice. Large bone white head which falls rather quickly. Sweet honeyed tones and spicy citrus notes comprise the aroma. Mouthfeel is thick, and follows up on the aroma with sweet citrus flavors, a little lime like. Finishes almost nondescriptly. Very gentle and laid back, seems like the sort of thing I could drink a large amount of on a hot summers day. Certainly not what I generally go looking for in a beer, but it is tasty and easy drinking.

11/4/08 notes: Hurray for Obama! I had this before the election was determined. Unfortunately, by no means was this a special beer to celebrate with. Poured a cloudy yellow, with an aroma heavy on candy, sugar, and an artificial orange marmalade smell. Complemented by a light palate, I tasted some simple citrus fruit along with some light wheat. Since I had this in a blind tasting, I must admit this tasted like an A-B offering, or at best, one of Leinenkugal’s girly wheats.

A milky opaque yellow wit with a thin white head. A lightly skunky wild herbal aroma, with odd sulfury notes. In mouth, fresh and creamy wit, rathe rlight and, in the end, non-descript. Sampled at Vermont Brewfest July 19 2008.

Bottle. Slighthly cloudy yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemongrass and orange peel. Taste of wheat and lemon with some other spices. Even slightly sweet finish.
